Ruidoso Middle School
Ruidoso Middle School was completed in August, 2009 on a 30 acre site to the north of the existing high school in the foothills of White Mountain. The $25 million, 140,000 square foot campus has an approximate maximum enrollment of 750 students in the 6th - 8th grades. The design includes track and playing fields, athletic courts, landscaped and hardscaped outdoor educational learning zones, and nature trails. The project’s energy system includes sustainable Ground Source Heat Pumping and Photovoltaic Collection. It will also incorporate daylighting strategies, natural ventilation, water reduction fixtures, lighting control systems, low emitting and recycled content materials, grey water collection for science use, and water storage for fire suppression.
Under our previous title, Garrett Smith Ltd, we managed all aspects of the programming, design development, construction documents, and construction management for this campus. Ruidoso Middle School was designed to meet LEED Silver requirements.
