Anson Townhomes

The historic Anson Flats was a 1910 brick mason’s construction based on the traditional Baltimore Row House. After a fire destroyed the buildings in 1993, the property was purchased by the City of Albuquerque and demolished that same year. The Anson Flats group then hired our previous title Garret Smith Ltd. to reconstruct this project in keeping with the original design. The exterior keeps an affinity to the design while the interiors were updated to meet current market demands, offering spatial continuity and contemporary functionality. Two of the seven units are affordable for first-time buyers, but all units of the same level of quality. The new 2-story town homes provide a number of modern amenities. They each have an enclosed porch and balcony overlook, while a private deck affords vistas of the mountains. Each unit has a full basement for utility services and work/play space.

The project demonstrates our office’s commitment to affordable infill housing in the downtown core of Albuquerque, with the goals of providing new housing, higher density, affordability, and pedestrian orientation within a growing urban center. Offering contemporary opportunities while recreating one of the city’s landmark buildings has been achieved with the Anson Townhomes.
