White Mountain Apache Housing Authority Low Income Housing Tax Credit #7

SD+A began supporting White Mountain Apache Housing Authority (WMAHA) in December 2016 with a capital needs assessment of thirty-seven (37) units slated for rehabilitation and funding application assistance.  Our team provided WMAHA with preliminary designs for twenty-two (22) new units, a community building and twenty-two (22) rehab units.

In July 2017, WMAHA was awarded LIHTC funding for the project and we immediately began completing construction documents and specifications.  The designs were required to meet Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) and a prescriptive path for sustainable development.  Our team collaborated with the funding agency, Indian Health Service, ADOH, Navapache Electric and other local agencies during the design phase to ensure all requirements were adhered to.  We also participated in a value engineering exercise to reduce construction costs and meet WMAHA’s requirement for a larger community building.  SD+A is scheduled to provide construction administration services throughout construction for the entire project through December 2019.
